VIBROSCREEN Separators Sift Indonesian Tea

Warman International Ltd. recently filled a major export order for 15 Kason VIBROSCREEN tea sorters and sifters for use at Indonesian tea plantations. Manufacture of the machines was completed in 10 weeks to meet the deadline of the buying company, Soon Wah Trading Co. of Singapore. Six five-deck black tea sorting machines and nine green leaf sifter machines were made at Warman International's main manufacturing plant at the Sydney suburb at Artarmon. They were made under a licensing agreement from the Kason Corporation.

The Kason VIBROSCREEN is recognized as the most efficient and dependable machine of its type and Warman International has manufactured and supplied a substantial number of these units to tea plantations in Africa, Southeast Asia and Papua, New Guinea, in the past 15 years.

The Warman-made product has-superseded the conventional rectangular-shaped reciprocating sifter which did not operate efficiently and required constant attendant labor to keep the screening surface clear .

By contrast the Kason circular Vibro screen requires no manual labor to keep the screen clear. The green tea sifter has a screen actuated by a three-component, multi-plane mechanical vibration system-horizontal, vertical and radial.

The vibration is imparted by a motor with a double extended shaft fitted at both ends with eccentric weights. The motor, shaft and weights are specifically mounted to the screening assembly.

This assembly is supported on a circular base by rugged springs which allow the assembly to vibrate freely and simultaneously prevent transmission of vibration to the floor on which the machine stands. The result is a compact, highly efficient, quietly operating machine.

The 1200 mm stainless steel machines supplied by Warman for the Indonesian plantations have a capacity of 3520 pounds an hour. An 1800 mm model with 7040 pounds per hour capacity is also available.

The black tea sorter, made from carbon steel, is available in three sizes -600 mm, 1200 mm and 1800 mm each with up to five decks, to give up to six grades of tea.

The six five-deck machines supplied by Warman have a 1200 mm diameter and a capacity of 2200 pounds per hour. The stainless steel mesh screens are epoxy mounted in a stainless steel tension ring.

Because of the absence of reciprocating parts, the machine requires minimum maintenance—an important feature in remote areas. All units in the Warman order were air freighted to Singapore. From there, Soon Wah Trading Co. shipped the machines to tea plantations in Indonesia.
